Jurnal Akuntansi dan Keuangan Islam (JAKIs) has published an online statement clarifying its use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the publication process. The journal’s website explains that AI tools can be used in a limited, responsible, and transparent way, mainly to help with language editing, improve writing style, or make manuscripts easier to read. However, JAKIs makes it clear that GenAI should not be used to create primary scientific content, research data, or academic analysis. Responsibility for the scientific work remains with the author. The statement also makes it clear that authors must disclose if they use GenAI when writing their manuscripts. This policy supports academic integrity, originality, and international publication ethics. By sharing this statement, JAKIs shows it is keeping up with digital technology while still maintaining scientific standards. The journal wants GenAI to be used as an ethical support tool, not as a replacement for the author’s intellectual work.
